• Player names for both team members
• Email addresses for tournament communications and account creation
• Mobile phone numbers for SMS alerts (rain delays, court assignments, schedule changes)
• Mahjong skill level and tennis division level for bracket placement
• Optional information such as survivor recognition permission, sponsorship selections, and notes
• Payment-related information is handled by Baptist Health Foundation via their secure donation portal; we do not store credit card details

2. How We Use Your Information

• To confirm your registration and communicate event details
• To send SMS alerts regarding weather delays, court assignments, and schedule changes on match day
• To send email confirmations and player portal access instructions
• To generate tournament draws and brackets
• To recognize breast cancer survivors at the event (only with your explicit permission)
• To process sponsorship selections and display commemorative banners
• To send push notifications via the player portal (with your consent)

3. SMS Messaging & Phone Number Collection

By providing your mobile phone number during registration and checking the SMS opt-in checkbox, you consent to receive SMS messages from Game Set Mahj related to tournament logistics, including rain delays, court assignments, schedule changes, and general event notifications.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies. You will typically receive 1–5 messages per day during the tournament weekend, and fewer outside of event dates.

Message and data rates may apply. You are responsible for any message and data charges imposed by your mobile carrier.

Opt-in: You provide your mobile number voluntarily during the registration process and must actively check the unselected "SMS Notifications Opt-in" checkbox to consent. Providing your number alone does not constitute consent; the checkbox must be selected. Consent is not a condition of registration.

Opt-out: You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. To resume, reply START or UNSTOP. For help, reply HELPor contact us at gamesetmahj@gmail.com.

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number with any third parties for any purpose, marketing or otherwise. Your mobile number is used solely by Game Set Mahj to deliver tournament-related SMS communications through our service provider Twilio, which transmits messages on our behalf but does not use your number for its own purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only as necessary to operate the tournament:

• Baptist Health Foundation — processes your registration donation payment securely
• Twilio — our SMS service provider delivers text alerts to your phone
• Resend — our email service provider delivers confirmation and notification emails
• Service providers — hosting and platform infrastructure that powers the player portal

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your registration information for the duration of the tournament and for reasonable record-keeping thereafter. If you would like your information deleted, contact us at gamesetmahj@gmail.com.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of SMS and email communications at any time
• Withdraw survivor recognition permission at any time

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, including secure data storage and limited access controls. Payment information is processed entirely by Baptist Health Foundation's secure payment system and is never stored on our servers.

8. Children's Privacy

Game Set Mahj is intended for adult participants. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
